The Theory Test now consists of two elements: the multiple choice part and the hazard perception part. The multiple choice part is delivered using a touch screen computer and the hazard perception part records your responses through the use of a computer mouse button.
The multiple choice element consists of 50 randomly selected questions. This section is designed to test your understanding of the theory behind driving.. You must answer 43 out of 50 questions correctly to pass this section.

The Highway Code is essential reading for everyone. Its rules apply to all road users: drivers, motorcyclists, cyclists, pedestrians as well as horse riders.
The Hazard Perception Test (HPT) element of the Theory Test is designed to test your awareness of potential hazards whilst driving. It consists of 14 film clips. Each clip contains one or more developing hazards. The pass mark for the hazard perception part of the theory test is 44 out of 75.
The DVD "Driving Test Success All Tests" is recommended for practice. It includes all the elements of the Theory & Hazard Perception Tests, Practical Test, Show Me Tell Me Questions and Highway Code.
